Glenn Peers is Croghan Bicentennial Visiting Professor in Biblical and Early Christian Studies at Williams College in the spring of 2024. He formerly taught in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Texas at Austin, and in the Department of Art and Music Histories at Syracuse University. His next book, Byzantine Media Subjects, completed while a Fellow at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in 2020-21, has recently been published in 2024 with Cornell University Press. His current projects engage his specialty—Late Antique and Byzantine art—and Disability Studies, as well as animality (particularly speech and revelation) and materiality (a form of ‘medianature’).
